Beyond Our Backyard
A Look at the Regional, National and Global Economy

Economic Summit 2006
A Conference for High School Faculty
June 1–2, 2006
Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas

Understanding events and matters in our own backyard requires going beyond for information and perspective. As policymakers study the evolving global economy, keeping a close eye on local and national economies is equally important.

The Dallas Fed’s 2006 Economic Summit, “Beyond Our Backyard: A Look at the Regional, National and Global Economy,” fostered greater awareness of current economic issues affecting the region, the nation and the world and offered new insights for discussing these topics with students. Breakout sessions provided suggestions for classroom activities.
