Cash Services
In the Event of a Business Disruption
at the Federal Reserve
Federal Reserve Cash Services
maintains comprehensive business continuity plans that
will be activated in the event of a business disruption.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’s business
continuity plans are aligned with those of other Federal
Reserve Districts to support continuity of service.
Please visit our national Cash
Services business continuity page [off-site] at
for more information.
If the normal provision of cash
services is impaired, the Dallas District will notify
its customers via FedLine for the Web and FedPhone.
The Dallas Office and its branches will notify customers
of a business disruption via FedLine broadcast message.
Notification instructions will also be recorded on FedPhone
for those customers who do not have access to FedLine.
The two most likely disruptions that may occur include...
- a network outage at the Federal Reserve Bank or
- an internal or external business disruption that
may render the Federal Reserve inaccessible.
Accessing Federal Reserve Cash Services
If your normal currency
and coin ordering channels— FedLine for the Web,
FedLine DOS and FedPhone—are unavailable, you
can also place orders by contacting your local Federal
Reserve office via telephone (see contact
numbers below).
If a Dallas District Fed office becomes inaccessible
for an extended period of time, you will be notified
and provided with instructions for placing currency
and coin orders. You may also be informed about restrictions
on currency and coin orders and deposits, alternative
pickup and delivery points, and may be directed to place
orders with other Reserve Bank offices within the District.
The Dallas office and its branches have procedures in
place to provide reciprocal backup services for each
other if this is necessary.
