Statement Regarding Robert D. McTeer’s Appointment as Chancellor
of the Texas A&M University System

The Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System met at 11 a.m. (Central time) today and formally offered the chancellorship to Robert D. McTeer, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.

He accepted the position and resigned from the Bank, both effective today. Helen Holcomb, first vice president and chief operating officer, will assume McTeer’s duties as acting president until a permanent replacement is found, including participation in the meetings of the Federal Open Market Committee.

The search will be conducted by the Board of Directors of the Dallas Fed, and its choice must be approved by the Federal Reserve System Board of Governors.
