Bexley Elected to
Dallas Fed Board
DALLAS—James B. Bexley has
been elected to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas board
of directors by its member banks. He will serve a three-year
term ending Dec. 31, 2008.
Bexley is associate professor
of finance at Sam Houston State University and chair
of the Smith-Hutson Endowed Chair of Banking.
Previously, he was president and
chief executive officer of Cardinal Bancorp and a subsidiary,
First American National Bank of Pennsylvania. He also
served on the board of the Society for Advancement of
Management and on the Texas Governor’s Select
Committee on Private Sector Initiatives.
He has written four books on
banking and is the author of more than 100 articles
about finance, banking, service quality and corporate
governance. He currently is editor of the Journal of
Commercial Banking and Finance.
At SHSU, he serves on the President’s
Executive Leadership Council and is chairman of the
Athletic Advisory Council. He also is a member of the
College of Business Administration Advisory Board.
Bexley received a bachelor of
business administration degree in finance from the University
of Texas at El Paso, a master of business administration
degree from the University of Houston and a doctorate
of jurisprudence degree from Blackstone School of Law.
Each Federal Reserve Bank has
a nine-member board of directors. Three members represent
commercial banks, three represent the public and three
are appointed by the Board of Governors in Washington,
D.C.
